Bill Inmon
Bill Inmon, world-renowned expert, speaker and author on data warehousing, is widely recognized as the "Father of Data Warehousing."
He was also voted as "One of the Ten IT People Who Mattered in the the Past Forty Years" by the Computer World Magazine's July 2007 issue.
He is creator of the Corporate Information Factory and more recently, creator of the Government Information Factory. With over 35 years of experience in database technology management and data warehouse design, he has been a keynote speaker for many major computing association and many industry conferences, seminars, and tradeshows.

DAMA International Symposium & Wilshire Meta-Data Conference
March 16-20, 2008
San Diego, CA
The Annual DAMA International Symposium + Wilshire Meta-Data Conference will take place March 16-20, 2008 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California.
This conference is recognized as the foremost data management educational conference in the world. Approximately 1000 Business and IT professionals will attend.
This event will include tutorials, workshops, presentations and case studies from leading data managment experts and practicioners. More informations will be published
Report from the board:
- The board met in December for the second time at the Innsbrook Shoppes Management Office.
- Treasurer: Current balance is $4,300.
- The board approved recruiting for the position of VP of Membership and an additional ?Member at Large? to be filled by a technical advisor.
- A DAMA CV presentation by Bill Inmon was scheduled in conjunction with his public course on Data Warehousing 2.0. (The tentative date is March 6th. The location will probably be VCU.
- The board approved necessary and appropriate funds for supporting Bill Inmon?s presentation in March.
- The board agreed to begin soliciting members for their input on topics for the 2nd quarter chapter meeting.
DAMA members get discounts of 10%-20% on a wide range of conferences.
